Yes, it is that time of year again. We are busy get­ting ready for the new sea­son of local bridal shows in Jan­u­ary. Quad City Trol­ley & Cedar Rapids Trol­ley will once again be par­tic­i­pat­ing in the two largest shows in East­ern Iowa. First on Sun­day Jan­u­ary 15th at the C.R. Gazette Iowa Bridal Plan­ner show that will be held this year at the Coralville Mar­riott Hotel that is located just off of I-80 in Coralville, and then on Jan­u­ary 31st at the Dav­en­port Jaycees Bridal show held at the River Cen­ter in down­town Dav­en­port. These are both excel­lent pro­duc­tions and are in my opin­ion the two top shows in each respec­tive area. If you are plan­ning a wed­ding I highly rec­om­mend attend­ing either or both of these wed­ding extravaganzas.

As we have in the past we will be offer­ing day of show spe­cial dis­counts for cus­tomers that book our ser­vices at the show.

Arrang­ing Your Wed­ding Day Transportation

Whether your choice is a clas­sic trol­ley, lim­ou­sine bus, party bus, horse drawn car­riage, or clas­sic car make sure that you get your­selves and your wed­ding party to the church on time and in style. As you can see your choices are var­ied and wide rang­ing, and you are lucky to have many fine ven­dors avail­able in the QCA for your wed­ding day transportation.

 Depend­ing on your pref­er­ences and prob­a­bly more impor­tantly your bud­get, there are sev­eral options for you to con­sider when arrang­ing your trans­porta­tion for your wed­ding day. Do you need to accom­mo­date a large group? Con­sider a trol­ley, lim­ou­sine bus or even a party bus for some­thing unique. All of these are capa­ble of mov­ing large groups to and from your cho­sen des­ti­na­tions. If your group is smaller maybe just the two of you in a horse drawn car­riage or clas­sic car or small lim­ou­sine. Most often I am asked to pick up a wed­ding party at the church after the cer­e­mony has been com­pleted, and from there we will trans­port the wed­ding party to a few stops for pic­tures or just to drive around before even­tu­ally drop­ping the wed­ding party off at the recep­tion site. You can usu­ally fig­ure at least one hour or 90 min­utes of rental time if you are just plan­ning on going straight to the recep­tion from the cer­e­mony. If you plan to make stops in between two hours is prob­a­bly the nor­mal amount of time that you will need. In many cases though our ser­vice will extend beyond the nor­mal two hour span of rental time to include pick­ing the dif­fer­ent mem­bers of the wed­ding party up at the hotel and trans­port­ing them to a pic­ture site, or the church prior to the wed­ding and wait­ing for the cer­e­mony to be com­pleted. On many occa­sions we will also shut­tle guests to and from hotels to the recep­tion and return them later in the evening after the fes­tiv­i­ties have con­cluded, so guests don’t have to drive them­selves after a night of cel­e­brat­ing. This has become more and more pop­u­lar as a way of keep­ing your guests from drink­ing and dri­ving. We offer extended time pack­ages exclu­sively for this purpose.

 What­ever your choice is you should book your trans­porta­tion at least three to six months in advance of your wed­ding date. Ear­lier if your choice is that one of a kind item that you just have to have. It never hurts to get it done early. Early book­ing dis­counts are some­times avail­able. Most ven­dors will require that you pay a deposit and sign a con­tract in order to book your cho­sen mode of trans­porta­tion, and don’t be afraid to ask to see the vehi­cle in advance of the wed­ding day.
